Fund for the promotion of cooperative projects in media art & digital culture

The ‘Medienkunstfonds’ funding programme – a fund to promote new collaborative processes in media art and digital culture – supports collaboration between practitioners from various fields of art, culture, academia and society in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The call for proposals, which was first published in January 2021, was specifically aimed at institutions and independent initiatives that engage artistically and culturally with technological change and its impact on society, and which draw on the broad spectrum of media art and digital culture in their methodology.

Funding from the Media Art Fund enables project-based collaborations between at least two institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia. Interdisciplinary partnerships between practitioners from different fields of work are possible and welcome.

The deadline for submitting project proposals for 2027 is 15 September 2026. The jury for the 2027 funding round has not yet been appointed and will be announced shortly.
